Horseman’s Ranch and NRS World were proud sponsors of the ACTHA Trail ride on June 9, 2012, held on the Horseman’s Ranch Trails. Members of the ACTHA gathered at the Horseman’s Ranch community center to review the six-mile competitive course, and then they headed out at 9 a.m. The event lasted just over four hours with the last ride finishing at the arena.
ACTHA is not a timed event until each rider approaches the judge at each obstacle and then at that point the rider and horse are judged based on time and control. The judged obstacles along the trail mainly consisted of natural origins including: opening and closing gates, backing around obstacles, riding up and down steep hills, water crossings, going over logs, putting on a slicker and side passing.
After the last rider was judged, everyone came in to eat lunch and sat down for the awards ceremony. Ribbons and prizes are given to 1st through 6th place of each division (open, pleasure and junior). Jackpot cash was also awarded.
Additional awards were given out for the tallest and shortest equine, horsemanship and sportsmanship, best groomed and longest haul – which was won by a gentleman from Houston.
NRS and Horseman’s Ranch was excited to be a part of the ride and looks forward to the next one.

Bonnie Martin and Horsemans Ranch sponsored an ACTHA ride in Callisburg on Saturday, September 3, 2011. Some of the riders arrived the night before and camped in their trailers around the arena and parking area.
The ride day dawned bright, clear, beautiful and HOT. Twenty-nine trailers and 44 competitors lined the parking lot. After a breakfast of donuts and coffee, everyone tacked up and listened to the briefing. First riders went out shortly before 10 a.m.
and most were back between 12:30 and 1:00 to enjoy the delicious barbeque lunch. Overall there was between 75 and 85 people there for the event. Everything went as smoothly as could be expected in the
intense sun.
Those of us from Horsemans Ranch - Bonnie and Forest Martin, Gay and Lane Holcomb, Kimberly Sorenson and all our helpers from the area, hope you all enjoyed your stay with us. Come back and tell your friends. We need new homeowners out here to ride with. |

On May 7, 2011, Horseman's Ranch turned into the streets of Hollywood with cameras, lights and boom microphones. Tom LeGros and Eric Perry with MoonEye Entertainment made the trip up from Austin, TX to capture all the beautiful elements of Horseman's Ranch on film. The cameras take you on a trip through team roping exhibitions in the custom NRS arena, trail riding through groomed trails, interviews with happy home owners and more.
"Horseman's Ranch is just the next extension of our great product offering [on NRSworld.com] to our horse loving customers," said owner of NRS and Horseman's Ranch, David Ishamwhen introducing the video.
Pictures can capture a single moment, but with video we're able to see more of what it's like to live at Horseman's Ranch. The cameras rolled through all aspects of horseman's ranch. Homeowners and friends from the community stopped by to show viewers what all Horseman's Ranch has to offer. Take the tour by watching the videos throughout the website. |

The Robert and Melanie Olson family of Seattle, Washington purchased Lot 31 on February 14th. Quite a Valentine's Day celebration.
The Olson's plan to move to Texas in the next few weeks, store their belongings and move to temporary quarters while they build their new home.
They arrived here in Texas right before the Super Bowl when the weather was freezing and snowy. Luckily we warmed up to the mid 70s for them during their visit. Like many of us, they are looking for warmer winters. Now if we could get the weatherman to help us with that!
Congratulations and welcome to the neighborhood. |
